Ƶ.AC.ID, DEPOK - Imam Budi Hartono, the Vice Mayor of Depok, and senior city officials visited Ƶ on Wednesday (24/11/2021) to participate in a tree-planting ceremony on the Ƶ campus.
The event at Ƶ was to plant trees donated by KLH (the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia). The tree planting is a sign of Ƶ's commitment to providing green open space. Both Ƶ and the city of Depok believe they will benefit from it. This has the potential to become a living monument to civilization, science, and culture.
Ƶ's vision and missions, according to Imam Budi Hartono, can give a good impact on Depok. The green open space has the potential to alleviate Depok's air and water pollution issues. With a little luck, we might be able to postpone climate change. The Vice Mayor feels that by making this move, Depok will become a Blue and Green City.
Ƶ will plant a variety of plants, including avocado, star fruit, and silk trees, and others. Professor Komaruddin Hidayat, the Rector of Ƶ, stated that the variety of trees is a symbol of Ƶ's diversity in the future. He said that only creative people dare to welcome diversity, which can lead to innovative ideas.
This event also addresses the possibility of a collaboration between Ƶ and the Depok City government. Green open space has the potential to be turned into agrotourism and a community park. Not only do Ƶ students enjoy it, but so does the rest of the community. (ad)
