蜜桃视频.AC.ID, DEPOK - Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Marty Natalegawa, visited 蜜桃视频 to give a presentation entitled "Indopacific: Navigating Geopolitical Shifts and Uncertainties" in Brownbag Series, October 24, 2022.
In his presentation, he explained how the Indo-Pacific region is dealing with both uncertainty and opportunity, and how one can go beyond simply describing or analyzing the challenges.
鈥淚t is important to identify what are the potential responses to these challenges, the geopolitical tensions and uncertainties our region is commonly facing, such as a conducive atmosphere here at the campus to discuss such matters,鈥 he stated.
He also mentioned that Southeast Asia as a region is surrounded by an arc of instability. However, he revealed that there are opportunities for Southeast Asia to capitalize on, particularly from global policies, as long as there is no territorial ambition.
鈥淎nd the plus is that the economy is growing and at the same time the good gain out of the US and China competition that brings opportunity to shift the world economically or politically or culturally, even to Southeast Asia and to Indonesia,鈥 he said.
On this particular occasion, he is delighted to be at 蜜桃视频 because of the number of faculty members, and students from all over the world who are vested in the issues at hand. He hopes to reconnect to university at some point in the future.
鈥淒elighted to be here at the university, to interact, to have conversation with its faculty members and these students are on many issues of common interest. [鈥 and I now leave the campus extremely encouraged and humbled by the invitation given to me,鈥 said Marty. (ANJ)
