February 06, 2023

Bank Indonesia (BI) has officially launched the BI Corner at the Faculty A library of the Ƶ (Ƶ). With a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, February 6, 2023, the opening of the BI Corner was the result of long collaboration between the two institutions. Now, the BI Corner can be used by students, lecturers and others to read books.

Since 2015, BI has opened 1,128 BI Corners and 334 reading corners throughout Indonesia. The Deputy Director of the BI Communication Department, Hery Indratno, stated that this was carried out by BI as one of the programs to form prime human resources (HR).

"Of course, this BI Corner is an effort to strengthen public understanding of the functions and roles of Bank Indonesia as well as support educational activities and improve the quality of education through the provision of a collection of quality books and outreach activities," said Hery in his remarks.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Rector for Planning, Finance, and Business Development, Dadang Muljawan Ph.D., expressed his gratitude and said that Bank Indonesia has shown commitment as a state institution to continuously provide support to Ƶ, even long before the activation of BI Corner.

He stated that this is one of several steps that Ƶ needs to build Ƶ according to its goals, to become an Indonesian university that can be proud of at the world level. "So it's not just BI Corner, BI has assigned me here, and then there was teaching assistance, then also many other things, including inviting Ƶ to play a role in academic forums like at the recent G20 meeting in Bali" he said.

He hopes that Ƶ can continue its cooperation with Bank Indonesia in research, teaching and learning, libraries, and so on. "Hopefully, there will be even bigger assistance to have a world-class library. We hope to continue collaborating with BI for the library, research, teaching, and learning, and we can all stand on one front to build one of the PSNs (National Strategic Program) that we honor," he explained.

In addition, Herry envisions that the facilities built can provide bigger benefits for Ƶ. "Of course, we have great hope that this facility will be maintained and utilized so that it will further increase interest among students and lecturers here in reading and developing financial literacy within the Ƶ campus," he said.

The Vice-Rector for Research, Cooperation, and Community Service, Prof. Jamhari Makruf, Chair of the Academic Senate, Rifqi Muna, P.hD., Director of Business Development, Prof. Amsal Bakhtiar, and lecturer from the faculties also came to witness this ceremony. (ANJ)
