Orientation Week Day #2: A Day of Faculty Highlights and Bonding

The second day of 蜜桃视频 Orientation Week 2024 on Thursday, September 19, 2024, was a whirlwind of excitement and bonding as our new students mingled with professors, lecturers, staff, and seniors from each faculty. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, curiosity, and the promise of new beginnings.

At the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIS), the day began with a warm introduction to the faculty and its diverse programs. Students were given a glimpse into the vibrant academic environment and activities that await them.

The introduction to the Islamic Studies Review and the Center of Islam and Global Challenges (IGC) sparked lively discussions. Supporting facilities and administrative support were showcased, ensuring students were well-equipped for their academic journey. The day wrapped up with the introduction of the Islamic Studies Student Association (ISSA) and a student-sharing session, where experiences and aspirations were exchanged.

Over at the Faculty of Social Science (FOSS), the cross-cultural talk was a highlight, fostering a sense of global community among students. It continued with the presentations on study programs and student-sharing sessions. The library and journal access briefing was insightful, while the session on 鈥楲ife at FOSS鈥 provided a vivid picture of the vibrant campus life.

The day continued with the introduction of the Muslim Politics Review journal and the Center of Muslim Politics and World Society. It concluded with an overview of FOSS social media, the Association of Social Sciences Students (ASSIST), and the International Students Association (ISA), emphasizing the importance of staying connected and involved.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) welcomed students with an introduction to the faculty. The study program introduction and alumni鈥檚 learning experience session were particularly inspiring, showcasing the success stories of past students.


The introduction to the Durham Islamic Finance Summer School (DIFFS) was also a highlight, while the session on the Ecobiz Student Association (ESA) provided opportunities for student engagement and leadership capacity building.

At the Faculty of Education (FOE), the day started with an introduction to the faculty and an overview of the study programs. The overview of the students association (ESTUDIA) was a great way for new students to connect and feel part of the community.

Academic activities such as the Graduate Forum and Annual Conference, as well as community services such as counselling and day care, were discussed, highlighting the faculty鈥檚 commitment to holistic education, while maintaining the well-being of its community.

Overall, the day was a beautiful blend of learning, sharing, and connecting. Each faculty showcased its unique strengths, fostering a sense of belonging and community among the new students. The bond, inclusivity, and diversity that each faculty embodies align perfectly with 蜜桃视频鈥檚 mission to be a melting pot of future leaders from around the world.
