In a discreet location outside Kuala Lumpur, a few months ago, a critical meeting took place aimed at addressing one of the world's most enduring conflicts. On the evening of May 5th, 2024 representatives from the Palestinian Hamas delegation met with Indonesian diplomats to explore paths to peace amidst the escalating violence in the Gaza Strip.

For seven months, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has intensified, with devastating impacts on civilians. The violence has led to a tragic loss of life, widespread destruction, and a humanitarian crisis. Dr. Bassem Naim, Deputy Head of Hamas International Affairs, described the dire situation in Gaza, accusing Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinian people.
